Peak Performance Institute provides psychoeducational intervention for children and teens goes beyond the customary term tutoring or study skills acquisition.

Our professional staff have backgrounds in psychological assessment and many forms of psychotherapy. Our psychoeducational therapists work with children with peak performance goals, preparation for gifted and talented programs, and preparation for examinations, treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, specific learning disorders, sensory integration problems and general underachievement.

Our Peak Performance Therapists approach the challenges of any student with an emphasis on the positive, helping that client understand his or her strengths while also becoming aware of the relative deficits that require special attention. The client’s self-esteem and motivation are as important as the scholastic or skills outcome, and the therapist is experienced in balancing the two in order to facilitate the optimal outcome and a balance of personal achievement and excellence.

The sessions are augmented by relaxation training that includes acoustically engineered background music designed to facilitate concentration and retention. The sessions also employ computerized programs that train and test the client’s reaction time and reward incremental improvement.
