Dear Dr. Mustin:
Congratulations on your nomination for the Greater Austin Business Award for Innovation sponsored by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. It is well deserved and I am pleased to be able to provide input in support of your nomination.
I became a client of the Peak Performance Institute based on my interest in obtaining executive coaching assistance in furthering my career. I had spent almost seven years as a director at Dell Computer and I had retired in the winter of 2000. In 2001 I decided to start a new company, Motion Computing, and was looking for coaching and development support to assist me as I was ramping up the new endeavor. I felt that it was critical that I invest in my personal development as we grew the company to ensure that I could improve my executive presence and management style. In my research of coaching options I heard about the work of Dr. Mustin and I underwent testing and coaching services.
The testing and coaching services had a significant impact in three ways; 1) the testing provided me with insight into my strengths and weaknesses and allowed me to focus my development activities, 2) the coaching methods provided me tools to use in my daily interactions at work, and 3) it encouraged me to continue my education and to explore additional opportunities for personal growth.
The sessions at the Institute resulted in several key improvements for me professionally in terms of better skills at dealing with the demands of a startup environment, improved concentration in meetings and on long lasting tasks, and understanding how to manage my reaction to adverse conditions in order to provide organization stability.
The Peak Performance Institute has proved to be an essential personal tool in both my professional and personal life. I continue to get occasional coaching sessions with Dr. Mustin when possible and I believe that they have provided me with the tools to be successful in my personal and professional efforts.
